IT'S SATURDAY IN FLORIDA

Raining her today and they say we will have rain all week.  Good for the ducks anyway.  On times like this it gives me the chance to really be lazy.  I crochet and read then cook, etc. lol  I enjoy reading Amish books.  I admire the Amish alot as I do not think I could be like them.  But, when you are raised into the order I guess you know nothing else.
The farmers around here are beginning to park along the road sides and sell there products they grow.  Such great eating when it is so fresh.  I remember when being younger the great taste of what we got out of our garden and my mother would cook it up.  Oh those great memories.
I hope you have a Bless day and would like to share this with you today:

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you. ”

MOTHER/DAUGHTER OUTING

Today the daughter and I decided to do our thing and make a day out.  Had lunch and of course all the chit-chat that goes along with it.  You never know just how long God gives you so spend all the time you can with your children.  My boys are away and I miss them so much every day.  If only I could turn the hand of the clock back I would cherish every moment I had with them.
This was a picture a few-- dud long ago it seems - of my daughter Lori and I.
I will tell you this, they may grow up, marry and have children of there own but you as a mother never stop the worry.
You have a Bless day.

A BLESSED DAY

Hello, thanks for dropping in.  Today I went to my grandsons 8th grade graduation.  My goodness where has the time gone.  My last 2 babies, Kaylee and Tyler beginning high school and before I know it I will hopefully be going to their senior graduation.  They say to take time to smell the Roses and now I can see the true meaning of this.  I would love to go back in years and have my 3 children back with me all tucked in at night and me knowing they are safe.  But, Life moves on and we make the best of it that we can.
Again, stop and take time to enjoy your day, your life and your family and friends, tomorrow may never come.

A LITTLE THIS, A LITTLE OF THAT DAY

Well June is here along with all the June bugs.  I was outside today and goodness at the skiters and whatever that is that was flying around.  No thank you , I will stay inside with the Ac on.

I decided to bake a Johnny Cake.  Do you know what that is?  Why it is Cornbread
Of course I do mine in the old iron skillet just like my grand mother and mom did.  Can't beat it.
I thiink I have a recipe for this:

Here's the recipe:

1 egg

1/3 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

1 cup milk

3/4 cup flour

2 tsp. baking powder

2 tsp. salt

2 cups cornmeal

Cream egg, shortening, sugar. Add milk and stir. Add flour, baking powder and salt, then add cornmeal. Bake at 300F until brown (usually around 45-50 minutes).
Now, go bake yourself and fix a big pot of beans to go with it.  Good ole southern cooking.

FRIDAY HOWDY FROM FLORIDA

Good Morning to ya, Raining here today so a nice lazy day.  We haven't had rain in over a month so the gardens, plants and flowers are sure gonna love it.  I was going to a yard sale but guess that one is out.  Tomorrow is a Estate sale so will sure hit that one.  I want to thank all my friends and family for checking out my blog.  I love doing it as it lets me release my thoughts.  Oh no, thoughts, now that might get me in hot water. Lol
Have a super good day and enjoy whatever you might do.
