I woke up this morning thinking of my parents and back when I was a wee thing. Growning up in the country, remembering milking cows, planting the garden, sitting under the big oak tree shelling peas for the afternoon dinner. I often think of how I wish the children today could have the experience of those good days. I went to a little country school, Harold Elementary which went to the 8th grade. Our class rooms was divided with one grade on the left and another on the right. while the teacher would teach the one side we would be doing work that she or he had assigned us. Recess would come and we would either be playing sports or running around. My goodness, those were the days for sure.
I also can say that I never one time heard a unkind work from my parents to each other. Today, all you seemd to hear is yelling and cursing and such a unhappy world. I do hope that 2013 will hold a better life for each and everyone.
Until later, enjoy your day, stay warm and most of all be happy.

ITS A YUMMIE CHRISTMAS
Baked S'mores
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/3 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt (optional)
3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs (approximately 5 full graham crackers)
1 tsp baking powder
2 or 3 super-sized (5 oz.) chocolate bars (e.g. Hershey’s)
1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme/fluff (or mini marshmallows if you must!)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. Grease bottom of pan.
In a small bowl, whisk together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt.
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/3 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt (optional)
3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs (approximately 5 full graham crackers)
1 tsp baking powder
2 or 3 super-sized (5 oz.) chocolate bars (e.g. Hershey’s)
1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme/fluff (or mini marshmallows if you must!)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. Grease bottom of pan.
In a
large bowl or stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar until light. Beat in
egg and vanilla.
In a small bowl, whisk together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt.
Add
to butter mixture and mix at a low speed until combined.
Divide dough in half and press half of dough into an even
layer on the bottom of the prepared pan. Place chocolate bars over dough. Two 5
oz. Hershey’s bars should fit perfectly [for 8 by 8] side by side, but break the
chocolate (if necessary) to get it to fit in a single layer. [use 3 Hershey's
for 12 by 8 pan]
Spread marshmallow fluff evenly over the chocolate
layer.
Place remaining dough in a single layer on top of the
creme. This is most easily done by putting the second half of the dough in a
gallon size freezer bag. Use your palms or rolling pin to flatten it out, and
then use scissors to cut down both long sides of the bag, so it will open up
book-style. Open it up carefully, and the dough will stick on one side of the
bag. Then place the bag, dough side down, on the other three layers. From there
peel the bag up and carefully spread the dough where it is uneven.
Bake
for 30 to 35 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool completely or almost
completely for the melty factor before cutting into bars.
Be sure to remember me when and if you decide to bake this. Wow, makes my tummy roll. Have a Wonderful day.

AS LONG AS
As long as there are homes
where families meet
And pray a little prayer before they eat;
As long as there are homes where children play
And echo forth their joy in childlike way;
As long as there are homes where parents care
And teach their children often how to share;
As long as there are homes with candle glow
That sends a shining beacon o'er the snow;
As long as there are homes built fast on love;
As long as there are those who look above;
As long as there are homes who let Christ in,
Who hear Him, heed Him, hold Him
through the earth's great din---
There will always be Christmas!"

DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS
Friday, December 7, 2012
FRIDAY HOWDY
Isn't this a beautiful picture ? This looks like a bed of snow but it is cotton. Since here in sunny Florida we don't get snow so hubby tells me when I speak of snow to take a drive and look at the cotton fields.
I hope you are having a good day. Today I will take it easy and lets just say, I want to be lazy today.

A SUNDAY BLESSING
Morning, don't you wish we could have a jar that we could open that would make every one happy, keep them safe and warm and never any worries. I hope you are enjoying your Holiday Season. Today is my Anniversary and someone ask me oh my, how long, my answer, ALL MY LIFE. Lol. Oh to go back and be a little girl again with no worries and happy and safe in the old world we use to have. Well, I can dream can't I?
All finished with all my Christams doings so now just sit back and enjoy all the lovely decorations and Holiday music. I hope you will have a Bless day, stay warm and take time to say a Prayer for someone special.

IT'S CALLED OLD AGE
I saw this the other day and though oh my, it sounds just like me. The ole bones, crack, snap and pop for sure. I hope your day is going good and you have a big smile on your face and that you will do something good for someone today. That always makes my day. If only the world could be nothing but a happy place wouldn't that be great? No sadness or heartaches is what I wish for you for your Holiday Season.

LET THE HOLIDAY SEASON BEGIN
What a beautiful home with all the snow and Christmas decorations. Can I say maybe a nice dream home. Nice but I am thankfull for just what I have. A house is only a house but I have a Home, not the size or color just home. Alot of love inside for sure.
I love the Christmas Season but not some of the people that go along with it as they do not seems to realize the reason fior the season. I hope you have a Blessed one and take time to relax and enjoy your time with friend and family.

HI LORD, ITS ME
Hi Lord, it’s me.
We are getting
older and things are getting bad here.
Gas prices are too high, no jobs, food
and heating costs too high.
I know some have taken you out of our
schools, government, veteran's funerals, and even
Christmas.
But Lord I'm asking you to come
back
and re-bless
America .
We really need you!
There are more of
us who want you than those who don't!
Thank You Lord,
I Love
you.
THIS WAS SENT TO ME BY MY VERY SPECIAL FRIEND, HOWARD. MADE ME STOP AND THINK TODAY AS I HOPE IT WILL DO THE SAME FOR YOU.

TWAS THE MONTH BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Twas the month before
Christmas
When all through our
land,
Not a Christian was
praying
Nor taking a stand.
Why the PC Police had taken
away
The reason for Christmas - no one could
say.
The children were told by their schools not to
sing
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and
things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would
say
December 25th is just a ' Holiday
'.
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and
credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get
it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an
I-Pod
Something was changing, something quite
odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and
Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken &
Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside
down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be
found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and
Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your
ears.
Inclusive, sensitive,
Di-ver-is-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate
me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf
Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton
!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a
clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public
matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our
faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and
grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and
discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it
started.
So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream
Tree'
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to
me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you
say
Shout MERRY
CHRISTMAS,
not Happy Holiday !
Please, all Christians join together
and
wish everyone you meet
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas
Season!
this was sent to me and I wanted to share this with you. If only we could go back to the good ole days as they say, we would not even be seeing such stuff or hearing many comments on the subject.

WHO KNEW
Did you know that drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain
almost immediately-without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional
pain relievers?
Did you know that Colgate Toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns?
Before you head to the drugstore for a high-priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of curiously strong Altoids peppermints. They'll clear up your stuffed nose..
Achy muscles from a bout of the flu? Mix 1 tablespoon horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil for instant relief for aching muscles.
Sore throat? Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day The vinegar kills the bacteria.
Cure urinary tract infections with Alka-Seltzer. Just dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms. Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly-even though the product was never advertised for this use.
Honey remedy for skin blemishes...... Cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, a nd speeds healing. Works overnight.
Listerine therapy for toenail fungus: Get rid of unsightly toenail fungus by soaking your toes in Listerine Mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toenails looking healthy again.
Easy eyeglass protection... To prevent the screws in eyeglasses from loosening, apply a small drop of Maybelline Crystal Clear Nail Polish to the threads of the screws before tightening them.
Cleaning liquid that doubles as bug killer... If menacing bees, wasps, hornets, or yellow jackets get in your home and you can't find the insecticide, try a spray of Formula 409.. Insects drop to the ground instantly.
Smart splinter remover: Just pour a drop of Elmer's Glue-All over the splinter, let dry, and peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the dried glue.
Hunt's Tomato Paste boil cure.. Cover the boil with Hunt's Tomato Paste as a compress. The acids from the tomatoes soothe the pain and bring the boil to a head.
Balm for broken blisters... To disinfect a broken blister, dab on a few drops of Listerine, a powerful antiseptic..
Vinegar to heal bruises... Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process..
Quaker Oats for fast pain relief.... it's not for breakfast anymore! Mix 2 cups of Quaker Oats and 1 cup of water in a bowl and warm in the microwave for 1 minute, cool slightly, and apply the mixture to your hands for soothing relief from arthritis pain.

WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY
Hello and how is your day today? Grab yourself a cup of coffee or tea and lets chat for awhile. I cleaned some this morning, did a little crocheting and visited with my daughter. Have you ever wanted to be a magic healer and heal everyone who is hurting and sad? I do wish I had that talent but I don't so I just say "Lord, I put this in your hands". Ok, enough of that, this is to be a happy chat, Thanksgiving being next week I need to get to the store and get the items I need. I always looked so forward to that special day, the kids all came for dinner and we had our Family time. Now, they are her, there and everywhere and have their own Families so the hubby and I just do our own thing. By the way, did I tell you he is away on a hunting trip? Yep, So what did I do with all my spare time?
I wish that your afternoon be a relaxing one, Stop be and chat any time you feel the need.

NIP THAT COLD
Honey and Cinnamon Cold Remedy:
- 1 teaspoon honey (purchase organic raw honey here)
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
I saw this and thought I would share with you. The older days when they had no Doctors people would make up things to help them. Natural is way better than PILLS any day.
You have a great day today. Stay warm and remember those suffering from the storm Sandy and say a special prayer for them.

MICKEY HE'S THE GUY
Ok, he is so ready to roll. Everyday he has to go for a ride around the neighborhood. We open the door and away he flies and jumps in the golf cart. He will stay right there until you take him even iff it is only around the house. He is so funny and such a great lil guy.
Today, everyone, take a few minutes to remember all the people who was affected by the terrible storm. God Bless each and every one of you and yours.

A WEDNESDAY HOWDY
Do you see this? My grandson Tyler is going to be racing this and of course I will be honest, I am not sure I can watch. It scares me and makes my heart pound. His Dad, Ricky also races and the same with him. I just don't like to see it as I worry something will happen. Like a big CRASH. Hopefully all will go ok in this adventure.
Today I am out and about, doing laundry and fixing a pot of wild rice soup. I hope your day is a pleasent one and Happy Halloween to all.

My great Grandson, Landyn had his big first Birthday Party last week. He is our miralce guy for sure. He looks so much like his mother did when she was a wee one. I wish I could have been there but miles between us I could not make it. Sad when family can't live close and all be together for such joyfull events. Seems everyone is here, there, yonder, and everywhere. I love my lil guy very much.

IT'S A MONDAY THANG
Good Morning, I have been MIA. We had out of town company for a week so busy doing this and that. Today I need to see what all I can get into, like laundry, sweeping, cooking, crocheting, what else. It is going to be a nice day here in sunny Florida today. I sure do miss the colder weather that we had in Tennessee. I am for sure a Winter time gal. Love the beautiful snow flakes that fall from the sky.
You have a lovely day and chat later.

OH ME, OH MY
Well hello there. So how are you doing this find Thursday afternoon. Birds are singing, squirrals are running around, dogs are barking, what else could be any better. I keep hearing this sound behind me so I turn around and it's only the hubby snoring away. He says he does not nap during the day. He HEEEE.
Where is my camera.
The leaves are really falling now. I did put it on my honey-do--list that it is raking time. Tomorrow I will go after the pumpkins to decorate the yard and get ready for that witch woman that they says flies around on Halloween Night. I want the yard to be nice when she flies over.
Enough of this, you have a nice Evening and catch ya later.

A GET WELL REMEDY
MAGGIE’S COUGH REMEDY
¼ teaspoon Cayenne
¼ teaspoon Ginger
1 Tablespoon Cider Vinegar (an organic one, like Bragg’s, is preferred.)
2 Tablespoon Water
1 Tablespoon Honey (use a locally produced raw honey, if possible.)
Dissolve cayenne and ginger in cider vinegar and water. Add honey and shake well. Take 1 Tablespoon as needed for cough. Hoo-wee.
Note: this doesn’t dissolve perfectly. Always shake well before using.
If you make this in small batches as the recipe is written, there is no need to refrigerate.
If you prefer, you may refrigerate this. It keeps as long as you need it. I like to make small batches (it is so easy to mix up.) and use it up in a just a few days
I saw this on a site I was looking at and wanted to share with you. We can always use a good cough remedy.

My brother and sister in law are on their way now for a visit and so much to see as the colors are beginning to chance up here. We are high up on a plateau so things different for us. We get it early I think. I am so waiting on the first snow fall myself. Love it, I get so excited you would think I was a lil girl waiting for the jolly ole fat man. Lol.
Wishing everyone a beautiful day.
NATIONAL CROCHET DAY
They say today is National Crochet Day. well maybe that means I best sit down, do nothing but fly my hook and get a few projects done. Here is one I am making now, Doily from the book called Pineapples Parade

WHAT A LOVELY DAY
Such a nice day here in Tennessee today. Cool and a nice breeze, while out riding today the hubby and I saw the beginning of the Fall colors start to appear.
My favorite time of the year. An afternoon cup of tea, the birds all flying and eating their food, hummingbirds fighting for that sweet drink of water, how could it get any better.
I want to share this recipe with you, it is a wonderful Apple Pie one amnd so easy to make,
My good friend Elizabeth shared it with me. So tonight it will be this with ice cream on top. Have a Bless afternoon and Evening.

A GRATEFULL FRIDAY
What a way to start out the day, Nag your hubby. I have been getting onto him saying don't do this and that. He is to not pick up more than 3 to 5 pounds, no pushing, pulling, tugging, lifting, wow, what a big JOB I have. Gotta love him though.
So happy you decided to stop in today and see what I have been up to. I received a call to make some crochet items for the Pioneer Day Fair here in Tennessee on Sept. 15th. So with the rain this weekend I will be inside busy as a Bee with the ole crochet hook and yarn. It is beginning to get cooler here in the mountains. Looking forward to my first snow fall of the year. Yip-eeee will I ever get to old to love the beautiful white stuff that falls out of the sky. Nope, I don't think I ever will.
You have a beautiful day, stay safe and God Bless you.

WHAT A WEEK
Yep, that is what my long past week has been, alot of STRESS,. Hubby was taken into emergerncy room in Indiana, had to have 3 stints put in and in the intensive care for 2 days, then regular room for 3. Doctors told me another day and he would not have been with us. Heart is just wore out. The pitts to get old isn't it. We are back in Tennessee now and working on the healing process. No driving a car for 2 weeks but driving me nuts, daily. he heeeee.
I am getting ready to make him some Banana bread. Maybe some Mexican cornbread also for me. Everyone have a nice day, catch ya later.
