IT'S A WONDERFUL DAY

Monday, it is really burrr here in sunny Florida today.  I keep saying, "where is the white stuff at" meaning SNOW.  Seeing the white flakes fall from the sky is such a magical thing.  I did get to spend a winter couple of years ago and had snow several times and I just loved it.  No, I don't want the pile high kind just the slight falling kind and some to cover the top of the ground.  It does snow here in Florida but not often.  Oh the joy it would be to wake up Christmas morning to a white lawn.

With Thanksgiving being only 3 days away I have began preparing my menu and getting my supplies together.  I am so thankful for so much in my life, My Children, hubby and friends and family members.
I said if I could win that Lottery I would make so many happy as I would share and put smiles on the faces of some of the not so lucky people in this world.

I hope you have a wonderful day today, stay warm, happy and give someone a hug today.

My Blaa Day

Afternoon friends, today is one of those blah days for me.     As the story goes, good days and bad days.  This ole age is for the birds.
It is turning cold again and really damp out.  I went to the grocery store this morning and it was packed.  Took me a little longer than it usually does but guess everyone is like me and wants to get the Thanksgiving items early so they can have a nice dinner for their family and friends.

My daughter is having some issues and of course she likes to tell mommie so I have had a down day today as it saddens me to  not to be a ble to help her,  I told my sister-in-law, I will not have any more Kids.  Lol

Hoping you have a nice afternoon, Catch ya later

COFFEE -DID YOU SAY COFFEE

20 Surprising Uses for Coffee Grounds

Instead of dumping coffee grounds into the trash, put them to work around the house. Here are 20 creative ways to use coffee grounds in your home and garden.

1. Deodorize your hands, fridge, closet or car. Put dried grounds in an old margarine tub with holes poked in the top or in a cheesecloth sachet to absorb odors. Keep grounds in a can near the sink and scrub your hands with them to get rid of fish, onion or garlic smells when cooking.

2. Repair scratches and dings in dark wood furniture. Dip a cotton swab into wet grounds and apply to the damaged area; repeated swabbing will darken the color.

3. Remove grease and grime from stain-resistant pots, pans and tools. Place a few teaspoons of the slightly abrasive grounds on a rag, scrub the object and rinse thoroughly.

4.
Contain fireplace ashes. Sprinkle damp grounds over ashes before sweeping them up to minimize the dust.

5. Make your own pin cushions
. Fill a scrap of a closely woven wool with grounds and tie off with a rubber band. The oil in the grounds keeps pins from rusting.

6. Fertilize plants.
Work coffee grounds into the soil of flower beds containing roses, azaleas, rhododendrons, evergreen, camellias and other acid-loving plants. Bonus: the grounds can help you grow the bluest hydrangeas—increasing the acidity of the soil helps them absorb aluminum, which creates a vibrant blue bloom.

7. Tenderize meat. Add a tablespoon of fresh coffee grounds to meat marinades. Besides tenderizing, it also gives the meat a mild smokiness.

8. Dye paper, fabric and Easter eggs. A soupy mix of grounds and water will give paper an antique parchment look or color fabric or eggs brown.

9. Repel insects. Mound grounds into a ring to create a protective border around plants, or sprinkle old grounds in places you don’t want ants, slugs or snails.
10. Sharpen garbage disposal blades. With the water running, add a tablespoon of grounds to a running disposal.

11. Grow mushrooms. Put mushroom spawn in a bucket of coffee grounds.

12. Make gardeners’ soap. Add one-third cup of coffee grounds to a melted bar of glycerin soap, reshape, then use to exfoliate dirt-caked hands.

13. Build a cockroach trap. Fill a can with two inches of moistened coffee grounds, then line the can’s rim with double-sided tape. The scent will draw roaches into the trap, and the tape will keep them there.

14. Add it as a secret ingredient to recipes. A hint of coffee in chili, ice cream and chocolate cake revs up the flavor.

15. Sow with carrots. Mix fresh grounds with the tiny seeds for added bulk to make sowing easier. The coffee aroma may also repel root maggots.

16. Create rich compost. Coffee grounds add nutrients like potassium and magnesium.

17. Make your own play dough. Mix a couple of cups of dried coffee grounds with a half a cup of salt and 1 to 2 cups of cornmeal. Add in enough warm water to get the dough to the right consistency.

18. Give your pet a flea bath. After shampooing your dog or cat, rub their wet fur down thoroughly with coffee grounds, working the grounds all the way to their skin. Rinse off the coffee grounds -- and any fleas.

19. Keep bait worms alive. Mix grounds into the soil in your bait box to keep your bait worms wiggling all day long.

20. Repel cats. Spread in flower beds to keep cats from using them as litter boxes, or sprinkle around houseplants to keep cats from eating them.

SAY WHAT-----

Oh my goodness, do you remember playing this game?  Yesterday I have a friend that I went to school with and we sit and talked about all the games we use to play at school.  Do you think the Children today do this? I assure you I would say NO.   If they only knew the fun that we had back when we were younger, I remember at Christmas I got some fruit, and 1 thing that Santa would bring and hopefully a few packages that was wrapped from my parrents, which by the way was usually homemade and I loved it.  What a wonderful time this was.  Would I go back to these days you say, you bet I would.

Today, the kids don't get small items but they ask for the big bucks items and yes, they usually get it.  Not your nickle and dime items but the big $$$$$$$ items and the sad thing is the parents go into debt usually to please these kids today.  How sad.  I have to say sometimes I was quilty of this as well but I did believe in the magic of Christmas.

By the way, only 40 days left until the Magical day arrives.  But, lets not forget Thanksgiving and to be thankful for all the Lord has given us , good foods, friends, and most of all, Life.  You have a wonderful day my friends and thanks for stopping in today.

IT'S A BURRRRR SATURDAY IN FLORIDA

Morning, I decided to give some serious thought to just running away.  Do you ever feel like this?  It is very cold out and when I opened the door and saw NO SNOW I was so upset, if it is going to be cold here in sunny Florida, then let it SNOW.  I guess you can tell I really love the snow.  If I could only win the Lottery I would take a long winter vacation and play in the white stuff all day.  Oh well, crap, where is my bikini, guess will have to settle for the white sand on  the beach.

Today will be a lazy one for me,  Just have the don't want to's so I want do it.  You have a Bless day.  stay warm, smile and make someone happy today.

MY OH MY

Well, now I know what is wrong with me today, I don't have enough caffeine yet.  so with another pot of coffee on thought I would say hello and say I am so pleased when you drop by.  I can get on my blog and seems I feel myself relax and let the mind wonder.  Wonder where you say?  well, you never know.

It is trying to rain here in not so sunny Florida today.  Very cloudy and windy so really a blaa day.      Sometimes I feel myself slipping into a not so good mode and I try to avoid it but at times I do not make it and takes me days to get back to myself.  Is this called OLE AGE?

Have a wonderful afternoon and see ya later for another chat from the craftylady.

JUST ANOTHER SUNDAY

How many times have you heard a friend say the very thing the picture says.  Move in with the kids, pay them back.  Yep, I think that is just what I am going to do.  I want say which one of the three but I think they would know who I am talking about.  Lol

I am feeling rather down today, not sure if I am trying to take a cold, tummy virus or what.  My Dad would say, Why are you trying.  Gotta love him.  My Dad was my heart , my pal, my buddy my best friend.  I miss him alot.

Rather chilly and windy today here in sunny Florida.  I have stayed inside most all day as it seems that wind blows right through me.  I love the cooler days but just not today.

Everyone, have a great afternoon and stay warm.  See ya later

HELLO NOVEMBER

Hello, I thought I would ride by today to wish you a nice weekend.  I think I will need to put the top up on my car as it is very chilly out.  In Florida, we have warm days as well as cold ones.

November brings the true Holiday season out.  Thanksgiving with sitting around the table telling all you are thankful for, after dinner, the turning on of the lights on the Christmas tree.  What wonderful memories one can hold of this special event.   Enjoy and hold onto all those special days as they go by so very fast.

Wishing you a Bless Day.  Come back often to see me.  You never know what you might find on this blog, LOL
